There are many volunteering opportunities coming up with our On The Verge ‘Underpasses’ arts and heritage team running community events in Conniburrow, Downs Barn, Fishermead, and Oldbrook. Join the ‘Underpass’ artists in a drop-in creative workshop to discover more about your local heritage and take part in informing the future artworks for the underpasses connecting Oldbrook Boulevards to Fishermead Boulevard and the Conniburrow to Downs Barn Underpass alongside Marlborough Street.
‘The Story of Housing in Milton Keynes’ - A Heritage Walk led by Tim Skelton 2-3.30pm 10th September 2016
“Learn the complete story of New Town housing in Milton Keynes in this fascinating walk around two grid squares. The walk will plot the effects of changing Government policies as well as evolving architectural styles and the use of MKDC and non-MKDC architects. Rent, sale, self-build, flat roofs, pitched roofs, sheltered housing and much more - all will be covered”.
Starting at the Fishermead Local Park, Kernow Crescent, Fishermead (next to the pirate ship).
